| This recipe isn't very recipe-like. It's more just permission or ... um ... a recommendation to reach into your fridge for a nice tasty snack, from time to time. There are some recipes which I see more as permission to eat something that runs against general Western "common sense". This is one of them.|
Suggesting people eat salami and cheese, as a form of health food, or as a weight loss mechanism would just sound silly to some, but ... I eat this all the time! In fact, it's not uncommon for me to make a meal out of it. A long day at work, hot and sweaty, to come home, open the fridge and make a nice tasty assortment of cheese, salami and tomatoes ... it's a 5 minute task and always hits the spot!
Look for a salami without a lot of fillers. Obviously watch the carbs, make sure there's no sugar, etc. The best option would be to find a local butcher than makes his/her own and talk to them about it.
Call it what you want ... I like it and I recommend you add it to your repertoire!
